The team at John Deere knows how important it is to have reliable equipment that can take on your most difficult jobs. They’ve crafted the John Deere 5E series to fill just that role, and we’d like to highlight one of the fine utility tractors offered in this line, the 5075E.
Easy-to-use Transmission Options
The beauty of the 5E line of tractors is the ability to customize them to your specific needs. For chores that require dependable strength and power, the SyncShuttle™ transmission option might be just the ticket.
With torque and power characteristics to match that of the John Deere PowerTech™ engines, the SyncShuttle™ transmission is a welcome addition to the 5075E. With enhanced transmission durability through the use of a pressure-lubricated top shaft, you’ll be able to reap the benefits of top performance for many seasons to come.
Shift operation via two platform-mounted levers allows for nine forward and three reverse gears. Additionally, synchronized shuttle shift capability between forward and reverse gears allows you to change directions without having to bring the tractor to a complete stop.
If versatility is what you’re looking for in a transmission, the PowrReverser transmission with 12 forward and 12 reverse gears will be perfect for a wide range of applications. Some key features of the PowrReverser transmission are:
- Hydraulic wet forward and reverse clutches
- Two platform-mounted levers for comfortable shifting
- An electrohydraulic fingertip directional lever control for effortless directional changes
- Constant-mesh, helical-cut gears for quieter operation
- Pressure-lubricated top shaft for added transmission durability
Slippery conditions can present frustrating problems for a tractor, sometimes resulting in wheel slippage and compacted soil. The 5075E employs a rugged, heavy duty mechanical front wheel drive axle that provides dependable maneuverability, longer tire life, and increased fuel economy.
Compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency is an important factor in tractor manufacturing, and the 5075E meets the EPA’s Final Tier 4 exhaust emissions regulations. The diesel oxidation catalyst/diesel particulate filter (DOC/DPF) system in the 5E series is designed to reduce toxic gases emitted via exhaust and prevent particulate matter from becoming airborne.
The tractor offers an operator-friendly way to clean accumulated particulate matter from the DPF through a process called “regeneration.” By flipping the dash switch to the “auto” position, the tractor will trigger the regeneration process automatically on an as-needed basis. If the tractor is in an environment where regeneration is not recommended, the operator can simply switch off the dash switch until the tractor is in an optimal location.
