Harvesting Hope: Bonton Farms

Posted by Hurst Farm Supply on Sep 20, 2016 1:20:00 PM

Hurst Farm Supply was founded with a passion and committment to customer service. We know the role that area farmers play in our community and our world, and we want to do everything we can to care for and support them in their work.

We are also passionate about caring for those around us. We want to be actively involved in groups and organizations that work to care for needs in our communities and across the nation. We have been blessed with so much, and we want to be good stewards of what we have been given by blessing others.

Many of you probably feel this way, too. That's why we're starting a new series called "Harvesting Hope". Each week, we will share about a mission or organization that is working to meet the needs of others. We hope that you will consider parterning with some of these groups as they serve those around them.

The first organization we want to share about is Bonton Farms, an organization dedicated to restoring health, creating jobs, and igniting hope in South Dallas.

Five years ago, God called Daron and Iva Babcock to Bonton, a small neighborhood in South Dallas. It is an area that has been hit hard with poverty, poor health, and crime. It's not the first place you would expect to see a farm, and yet that is exactly what the Lord called the Babcock's to create.

While the work has not been easy, it has been productive. Five years later, Bonton Farms and the surrounding community are thriving. The members of Bonton now have access to fresh, healthy food; a place to buy necessities for their home; and opportunities for work.

This mission, however, wouldn't be possible without support. If you'd like to learn more about the mission of Bonton Farms, you can visit their website and read their story. If you would like to partner with them finanically, you can do so here.
