This year, Hurst Farm Supply is proud to once again partner with John Deere and the National FFA Foundation to offer six - $2,000 scholarships to one area student from each of the following counties: Borden, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, Lynn, and Scurry. Selections for this scholarship will be awarded by the National FFA Foundation based on the applicant's leadership abilities, academic accomplishments, FFA and other school and community activity participation, supervised agricultural work experience in agricultural education, and future goals.
This year marks Hurst’s seventh year partnering with John Deere in the FFA Scholarship program since John Deere’s initial partnership in 2013. In 2018, more than 1,800 scholarships were available to over 8,300 applicants. The National FFA Organization awarded $2.5 million in scholarships during the last scholarship period and are close to $50 million for the past 35 years.
“It is such an honor to be able to partner with John Deere in awarding these scholarships to local, well-deserving students. Witnessing the growth and fruits of these students’ labor is very rewarding”, said Joe Hurst.
The application window is open from November 15, 2018 through February 5, 2019. Please visit the National FFA Scholarship Program website for the online application form and program details. https://www.ffa.org/scholarships
