Mandatory Software Update for Starfire 3000 & 6000 Receivers

John Deere has released a mandatory software update for its Starfire 3000 and Starfire 6000 receivers. This update needs to be completed by Jan 31, 2021. For those of you who run on Hurst Farm Supply's RTK network this deadline is moved up to December 31, 2020. If you do not complete this update in time you will lose the ability to maintain 3D corrections on your Starfire receiver. 3D corrections are required for AutoTrac to engage. This means that if you miss the deadline, your equipment will not be able to engage AutoTrac until you have completed the update.

You have a few different methods available to you to complete this mandatory update.

Option 1: Download and install the update yourself.

The software updates are available to the public at Stellar Support

Option 2: Purchase a preloaded USB/Data Card with the update and install yourself.

There are a few different options of software available to you depending on which type of display and receiver you run. If you are unsure which version to use, you can purchase a preloaded USB/Data Card from the Precision Ag department at Hurst Farm Supply and perform the updates yourself. The price for a preloaded USB is $50.17 and the price for a preloaded Data Card is $69.21.

Option 3: Bring your receivers to Hurst Farm Supply for Updating.

Drop your receivers off at your nearest Hurst Farm Supply location and we will update your receivers for you and get them back to you as soon as possible. The charge for this service is $50 per receiver with a maximum charge of $200.

Option 4: Have Hurst Farm Supply's Precision Ag department come and update your receivers in the field.

This option will be billed as a regular service call. You will be charged our regular mileage and labor rate. Prices will vary depending on your location and the number of units you need updated.

Is this Software Update available for Starfire ITC receivers?

No. If you are still using a Starfire ITC in your operation, your time to upgrade this hardware is drawing to a close. If your ITC receiver is used for SF2 or RTK corrections, you can still move your activations to a new Starfire 6000 receiver for $5000 per unit. These upgrades can be ordered until December 31, 2020. If your ITC receiver is used for SF1 corrections, you can purchase a new Starfire 6000 for $3900 or a used Starfire 3000 for $2500*

If you have any questions about this mandatory update or upgrading your Starfire ITC, please call our Precision Ag hotline at 806.853.5253.
